Slopes and lifts

It is better to accompany going out on the trails with a detailed preliminary study of the map. An important point is that Ischgl has a wide “forest” ski area and a treeless one. The problem of choosing descents is really serious. What is there: flat, smooth trails (10-15%), snow-white mountains and sharp peaks, mogul and carving valleys, depressions (ravines) and passes covered with virgin snow. What is not here: crowded trails at altitude and very steep descents. Ski slopes into the valley are secured with new snow installations.

Difficult skating

Black No. 35 and No. 4 are “black” more in relief than in degree. An interesting descent is No. 33, which turns into No. 34 - quite long, in the upper part with a good slope. The region offers excellent opportunities for carvingists: Fesiltal, Val Gronda and Northern part Pardach Grata. We recommend exploring local virgin slopes with a guide; there are quite a few of them in the region.

Moderate skiing

“Red” skiing is the main attraction of the region, and the choice of tracks here is only a matter of your taste and skill. The most interesting are: descent No. 12, its middle section passes through a couloir with rocky outcroppings, and at the finish line there is a nice mountain restaurant; red route No. 40 from the peak of Palinkopf (2864 m) to Fimbatal. Slopes No. 61 and No. 60 from Alp Trida (2263 m) to the Swiss village of Compatsch require special attention - they end at the bus stop, and the nearest ski lift is in Samnaun, and can only be reached by bus. The red pistes leading to Ischgl itself are crowded in the lower sector in the afternoon.

Easy riding

The central territory is Idalp (2307 m). There are three lifts leading to its top: A1 Silvrettabahn, A2 Pardatschgratbahn and A3 Fimbabahn (an escalator tunnel leads to it). The Austrian part of educational skiing is concentrated here - pistes No. 6 and No. 8: the most comfortable and wide. The blue option for those prepared is located on the Swiss side (No. 62, No. 63 and No. 64, No. 69). Just in case, if you are going to Switzerland on skis, take your passport with you.

• For professionals: The black slopes at the resort are difficult and require good physical fitness. The best descent is route 34 from Inner Viderjoch to Paznauner Taya. Route No. 4 to Pardachgrat is a little easier. Very steep routes No. 20 and 21.
• For intermediate level: The most popular route is number 40 from Palinkopf to Gampen. A good route number 80 is the descent to Samnaun, although in some places it is covered with ice. Going through this descent without stopping will increase your self-esteem. Routes 30, 37 and 36 through Bodenalp are also good.
