What to see in Hua Hin - attractions and excursions. What interesting things can you see in the vicinity of Hua Hin? Interesting places in Hua Hin

Khao Takiab beach boasts a secluded, relaxing holiday, clear azure water, soft white sand and a panorama of the mountain range. The length of the beach is small, only 2 km, but it is very easy to find by the main attraction - the 19-meter golden statue of Buddha. The convenient location of Khao Takiab allows tourists to get to any place in Hua Hin very quickly, literally within half an hour.
Khao Takiab is ideal for families with small children, as you can find beautiful shells and small crabs. A small market where you can easily buy fresh fish and seafood, and several restaurants with delicious food can brighten up your holiday on this magically beautiful beach.

Suan Son Beach is a military beach open to the public. Here, unlike other public beaches, the environment is calmer, the shore is clean and tidy. This beach is located behind Khao Takiab Beach. Its distinctive feature is the wild, unaltered flora and unafraid fauna of the jungle.

One of the pleasant holiday destinations is Cha Am Beach in the north of Hua Hin. There is also a small town of the same name located here. It is an independent resort, but is mostly used by Thais for their holidays. This beach boasts a good length of coastal zone, soft clean sand, shallow entry suitable for swimming for small children, and bright tropical vegetation.
The highlight of Cha-Am is the grove of coniferous trees - casaurines, which reach a height of 30-35m. The entertainment inherent in this beach is all purely water-based, so in the evening it is worth going to the embankment restaurants, whose cuisine is very popular among the indigenous population.

Khao Tao Beach takes its name from the village of the same name, which is located on this shore. It is conditionally divided into two parts. The first is a beach that will surprise tourists with the beauty of its views, the purity of the blue sea, and quiet romantic places to relax. The second is a village that is engaged in fishing, and there are many counter restaurants with very fresh and tasty seafood and national dishes. It’s worth visiting this beach not only for its own sake, but also for the very beautiful and brightly decorated temple complex.

Pranburi Beach is a very popular place not only among Thais, but also among tourists, because here you can have a great time on the beach and try new exotic food, play beach volleyball and football, go on a boat and catamaran. It is located in the south of Hua Hin and is suitable for those who love underwater sports. Diving and snorkeling can be enjoyed here. Visit this beach and you will have a great time relaxing on the beach, listening to the sounds of the tropics and the coastal surf.

Hua Hin, like few places in Thailand, has a fairly rich architectural heritage. Those who cannot imagine traveling without learning about culture and values, without intellectual and spiritual development, will have something to do at this resort.

Hua Hin station is considered the most beautiful railway station in all of Thailand and the symbol of the city. Next to it, another famous building was built - the Royal Waiting Room, which was used only by the royal family. All these buildings date back to 1911, and are very well preserved, as local residents cherish the heritage of their ancestors and treat it very carefully.

Wat Ampharam is considered one of the most important and most visited places in Hua Hin, because in addition to the temple complex, it is also a monastery in the city. It is distinguished by an exquisite architectural style inherent in Thai buildings of bygone times - gilding and an abundance of decorations. The temple is open to visitors free of charge for people of any religion, but the monks living on the territory of the complex will not refuse donations. There, tourists can take part in temple rituals and activities and fully experience the whole atmosphere of religiosity and high, truly divine, spirituality.

It belongs to one of the most sacred places for Buddhists. Pilgrims from all over the Asian coast come here all year round. It is famous for its exquisite, unusual architecture and unconventional 11-meter-tall Buddha statue. The temple houses interesting statues of elephants with riders and many other beautiful displays.

An hour's drive from Hua Hin city is a Chinese-style temple. This is a quiet place, very comfortable for body and soul - the beauty of nature, a wooden pagoda surrounded by trees, a picturesque lake and the small number of people puts you in a peaceful mood and forgiveness. It is also worth seeing the tall statue of a happy Buddha, who is depicted sitting on the top of a hill. This place is perfect for a quiet, relaxed holiday without fuss or rush.

Entertainment and shopping in Hua Hin

Hua Hin is also not deprived of more modern and practical types of entertainment. Lovers of intense, unusual shopping will find adventure here, which can be fully enjoyed at any time of the day.

Hua Hin Night Market is a must-see as it showcases Hua Hin's nightlife at its best. The market occupies a very large area, so every visit will be something new and unusual for you.
Thailand's night markets are its calling card, as the Hua Hin Night Bazaar market proves. Here you can find any souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, genuine leather products, handicrafts, products grown in local fields and gardens, exotic fruits and seafood, and much more.
This night market is filled with small catering kitchens - food courts - that offer locally prepared Thai dishes. There are many cafes and restaurants where you can have a tasty and inexpensive dinner. In this market, tourists can meet wandering actors who perform small performances and play musical instruments. Hua Hin Night Bazaar is always fun, noisy and crowded. It is impossible to miss this vibrant place, since the market is located in the center of Hua Hin.

It is the largest and most interesting in Hua Hin. This is a traditional market in Thailand, which is a smaller version of the one in Bangkok. This place ranks one of the first in terms of the number of goods sold in Hua Hin and is very popular among tourists. What makes the place unusual are the kitchen boats scurrying back and forth across the lake in search of clients.

The new night market Cicada Market is located in the southern part of Hua Hin. It is different from the central night market as it is newer and built gradually rather than spontaneously. There is a wider selection of handmade goods, which is more valuable for tourists - they are always original and, as a rule, small in quantity.
A very large selection of paintings, figurines made of wood, decorative dishes, sculptures - and all this is the author’s, not factory-made. The highlight of the Ciсada Market night market is the stage where local actors and musicians perform, and at night and in the evening there is live music and dance floors in cafes and restaurants.

The pier is one of the most visited entertainment spots in Hua Hin. It is located in the tourist center and attracts passers-by with the sound of the surf and a large number of cozy cafeterias and restaurants. Here, every passerby can taste delicious seafood in a comfortable environment at an affordable price. Near the pier there are shopping streets with shops that offer a variety of everyday goods.

Plearnwan is not even a market, it is a historical introduction to the culture and history of Thailand. It is decorated in the style of the 50s of the last century and helps tourists travel back to a bygone era. Prices here are an order of magnitude higher than in other markets, but the goods sold are not consumer goods, but interesting individual goods with history, for example, collectible vases, figurines, musical instruments.
The retro market is also interesting because here you can not only wander around the market, eat national food, but also play on old machines and shoot darts.

This is a completely new entertainment establishment built in 2014. It is divided into several zones, each of which has its own interesting water slides of varying degrees of difficulty. A very attractive and intriguing place, the quality is reminiscent of the best water parks in the USA and France. The holiday is positioned “for the whole family” - a very large number of swimming pools, cafes and restaurants with delicious food at an affordable price.

Protected places

Hua Hin is a beautiful city, and in addition to the sea, there are many places to go and see, from the Royal Palace and the railway station to natural attractions in the surrounding area.
I personally really liked the city, and it is not at all boring, as many people think. Perhaps because I’m already a little old and all sorts of different parties and discos with ladyboys are not at all interesting to me.

Having stayed here for about 1-2 weeks, I had a strong desire to live here one day, and specifically to live, rent a house and stay here for a couple of months, or maybe more. Yes, of course, Hua Hin is very far from the island nature, but as a good place for work and periodic relaxation at sea, it is quite suitable. Considering that I am not at all picky about the sea, and there are a couple of good beaches here. I also liked the opportunity to walk along the city beach instead of the embankment. In general, I don’t like sand because it gets into my shoes and sticks to my feet, but here the strip of shore is well-trodden and wide, and you can walk far, right up to Khao Takiab.

Hua Hin is a kind of European resort. There are a lot of old men here arm in arm, including those in wheelchairs, there are plenty of bars with red lights, where Thai girls call passionately, but thank God not as passionately as in Pattaya. There is no debauchery, everything is decorous and noble, I haven’t seen any ladyboys either. In general, I even liked the city itself, somehow it felt nice and cozy. It is not very big, but it has everything you need: shops, shopping centers, a hospital, car and bike rental. And I’m especially glad that you can go to live on the outskirts or in the suburbs, where it will generally be very quiet, but at the same time you will still have the opportunity to quickly get to the city center or go by minibus to Bangkok. Hua Hin is considered the safest city, perhaps it is, it is really very calm. By the way, I rented a car and a bike, they didn’t stop me, everything went smoothly, although I had my license with me.

If you want to come to Hua Hin for a short while and are looking for accommodation, we have articles about and. You can search for other hotels in Hua Hin using this link, or come to the place and immediately go to the area where all the guesthouses are concentrated, which is next to the sea and the pier.

If you live here leisurely, then there will be just enough interesting things for the weekend of the next couple of months. And if you expand the radius, then for six months, there is also plenty of everything in the neighboring provinces.

About the main attractions of Hua Hin. Where to go/travel, what to see in the royal resort and surrounding area.

Elephant Village

A great place to see, pet and feed elephants. You can still ride if you're interested. There are no us, we are purely interested in feeding)

For 100 baht you will get a basket of bananas and cucumbers (suddenly), which huge elephants will eat with great pleasure and appetite. I strongly recommend it, no matter how old you are.

There is a Buddhist temple nearby that is also worth a look.

And a 360 observation deck, with a large statue of a man with an umbrella. This is also a cool place, by the way.

Night markets, and especially Tamarind

There are many night markets in Hua Hin; the most popular are Cicada and Tamarind Night Market, located close to each other. Ideal scenario: Enter through Cicada, listen to covers of popular songs on dulcimer, play in the amphitheater and other performances; wander through the shopping arcades - there are interesting handmade items there; and then go to Tamarind, order divine ribs from the food truck, mango and passion fruit shake, sit closer to the stage and enjoy.

This is amazing, we have done this ourselves more than once.

Hin Lek Fai

Khao Hin Lek Fai consists of several observation platforms with excellent views of different parts of the city. This place on the mountain is densely populated by monkeys.

Bat Mountain

An amazing natural phenomenon in the vicinity of Cha-Am, at about 18.30 flocks of bats fly out of the cave. Every day)

Khao Takiab

Monkey Mountain Takiab in the south of Hua Hin. Monkeys live on the territory and feel completely imposing, and there are many of them) We even saw a monk chasing them with a slingshot.

On the territory there is a large temple complex with observation platforms and excellent views of the city.

Pagoda on the mountain Chang Wat Prachuap Khiri Khan

Rajabhakti Park

A well-kept park with huge statues of the seven kings of Thailand. They are very majestic and fascinating, but it’s not worth going here just for them; combine the trip with a visit to the pagoda from the previous point, for example. They are located close to each other.

Railroad station

This is the first railway station, where members of the royal family waited for the arrival of the train. It is important for the development of the city.

Huay Mongkol

A very revered Buddhist shrine, this is a large black monk statue and a park next to it. If you are with a child, you can also stop by Black Sheep Farm.

Mangrove forests

The mangrove forests in Pranburi are an unusual place and definitely worth a visit. These are trees that feed on sea water. The soil is moist, there are bridges for walking and the entire route runs along them.

Temple complex on Khao Tao mountain

Interesting place, great view of the sea, Khao Tao beach, Khao Takiab and Hua Hin.

Artists' Village

It is located far from the city center, but is interesting because of the abundance of art workshops where you can feel the atmosphere, look at paintings and attend master classes.

Water parks

There are 3 water parks in the vicinity of Hua Hin: one is Santorini, in Cha-Am. The one next door is also quite good.

The largest and most equipped is Vana Nava, in the south of the city, in the building of the Holiday Inn hotel.

And the third, older and more modest - Black Mountain Water Park. It has a free shuttle from Market Village, is less crowded than Vana Nava, and has a man-made lake for wakeboarding.

Have a nice trip! Ciao!

floating market

The floating market was built specifically for tourists quite recently, located 3 km west of Hua Hin. The place is worth visiting as an exotic place, because... looks quite impressive: pavilions in the old style with pink roofs (each has its own name), bridges across the lake, a small temple with a statue of a monk. On the lake you can ride a boat or on catamarans made in the shape of animals.

Directly at the market, pavilions sell the usual range of goods that can be bought everywhere in Thailand - clothes, shoes, handbags, souvenirs, crafts. There are cafes to grab a bite to eat. You can only get to the Floating Market by your own transport or by taking a taxi. In the first case, follow the signs. The market will be located on the left side of the road, among the fields.

Hua Hin Farm

Nearby, 50 meters from the Floating Market, there is another interesting attraction of Hua Hin - the Hua Hin Farm. It was also built specifically for tourists and is a rather interesting example of architecture, stylized as antique: a wooden and brick house, a mill, and an animal pen. Inside the wooden house you can buy all sorts of things for the home, such as jugs, mugs, soft toys, figurines.

Hotel Sofitel Centara Grand Resort

Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villa was built in 1923 and was formerly called the railway hotel. To this day, it has retained its ancient architecture externally. At one time, it was purchased and restored by the famous hotel chain Sofitel, which is why it is still operational. Quite expensive. Located in the city center, right on the coast, on Damnernkasem Rd.

Retro village of Plern Van

This is truly a landmark that everyone in Hua Hin should see, especially those who want to travel back 30-50 years. Plern Wan is often called a retro village or a shopping center, but it is neither one nor the other. Its size clearly does not resemble a village, and it is located right on the main highway of the city. The definition of “shopping center” is also not very suitable, because... here some goods are not sold, but are simply displayed as antiques: cars of the past, an ancient gas station, televisions from the 70s and 80s, telephones from almost a century ago, Beatles posters, etc. Mostly souvenirs, crafts and food are sold here. European and American music of the 70s and 80s sounds from cafes and shops (we identified Michael Jackson, Madonna, Ottawan, Boney M and Baltimore with “Tarzan Boy”). Quite an interesting place, it seems like it really is the 60s-80s.

The retro village is a two-story wooden structure, at the very end there are small attractions and a small Ferris wheel. By the way, here you can rent a room at the Piman Plearnwan hotel, it’s expensive - but it’s worth it. This attraction is located on the main road - Phetkasem Rd (between Soi 38 and 40), close to the Klai Kangwon Royal Palace, on the opposite side.

Wat Hua Hin

Wat Hua Hin is the main temple located in the city center. Nothing outstanding - just a few modest buildings in the Thai style. If you have already seen ancient and grandiose temples in Bangkok or Phuket, then you can completely bypass it. It will be of interest only to those who are in Thailand for the first time and have never seen Thai religious buildings before. There are almost never people there. Monks live on the territory, and sometimes local residents come here. The temple is located on the main road Phetkasem Rd, near the clock tower.

Night market

The night market in Hua Hin occupies an entire street in the city center (Soi 72), running perpendicular to the main road Petchkasem Rd. Like all night markets in Thailand, here you can taste national dishes, buy clothes, shoes, souvenirs and much more.

Huai Mongkol Temple

Wat Huay Mongkol is a temple interesting because the main shrine is not a Buddha statue, but the world's largest statue of Saint Lungpo Thoth. This monk lived more than 400 years ago and is one of the most revered in Thailand. This attraction of Hua Hin is located 18 kilometers west of the city (take highway No. 3218). It is better to get there by your own transport, following the signs. You can use taxi services.

Palau Falls

Palau is a waterfall in the Kaeng Krachan Nature Reserve, 60 km from Hua Hin, right in the jungle. There are many amazing plants and animals here. Huge streams of water have 16 levels. Below there are several natural pools where you can swim and dive. This is one of the largest waterfalls in Thailand. Entrance to the National Park - 200 baht.

Roi Yot itself, or the Mountain of Three Hundred Peaks, is the first marine national park in Thailand, captivating many tourists with its beauty every year. Roi Yot itself has mountains, valleys, jungles, plantations, waterfalls, beautiful beaches and many interesting inhabitants.

Moreover, a trip to Sam Roi Yot is not just an aimless stroll enjoying the amazing views. Excursions here are accompanied by mandatory visits to some places. For example, one of my favorites is the Tham Phraya Nakhon cave. Its special feature is the gazebo, built in 1896 by Rama V, and standing directly under the light of the sun. In the twilight of the cave it looks very impressive. You should not ignore the Tham Kaeo and Tham Sai caves.

Another attraction for tourists is climbing to the Ban Khao Daeng panoramic platform. The path there is difficult, so it is better not to go there with children. But when an amazing view of the park opens up from this height, you will understand that it was worth it.

Cha Am Beach

Cha Am Beach is a favorite vacation spot for Bangkok residents who come here on weekends. European tourists are a rarity here. The best time to relax on Cha-Am is on a weekday, when the beach is practically empty.

Cha Am Beach itself is a very long line of sand along which there are many casaurines - evergreens. The trees provide good shade, which is very helpful on particularly hot days. The sea is quite shallow, but clean - there are no factories nearby. All this makes Cha-Am Beach an ideal place for families with children.

The prices on the beach are very reasonable - here you can rent a guest house on the seashore for only 250 baht per night. Renting a sun lounger will cost 20 baht per day.

Khao Luang Cave

One of the most interesting natural attractions in Phetchaburi is Khao Luang Cave. When visiting the cave, be prepared for the fact that flocks of monkeys will be waiting for you at the entrance, desperately begging for delicacies.

Inside the Khao Luang cave is a huge Buddhist temple complex. In several natural halls, among stalactites and stalagmites, there are Buddhist altars and many statues depicting Buddha in various poses. The most impressive is the giant statue of the reclining Buddha (the most revered position of the Buddha, because it was in this position that Gautama accepted death and was freed from the cycle of rebirth).

There are a total of 170 statues inside Khao Luang. It is best to visit this amazing place with a guide.

Fifteen kilometers from Hua Hin on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand is located one of the most amazing and beautiful palaces in Thailand. In Thai, its name sounds like Maruekkhathayawan palace, but the palace is better known as the Palace of Love and Hope.

The three-story palace building is made of teak wood, which gives it a special ambience. The palace was built as the summer residence of King Rama VI in 1923. Under the supervision of an Italian architect, the palace building was built in the classic Thai-Victorian architectural style.

Recently, the Palace of Love and Hope was restored. Anyone can get into it absolutely free. Opening hours - from 08.00 to 16.00.

Pa La U Waterfall

The Pa La U waterfall has sixteen levels and stretches for two hundred meters. The waterfall does not have powerful water flows; it is rather a small river that periodically falls from one step to another. But Pa La U boasts extremely picturesque surroundings. Closed from the outside world by the evergreen tropical forest, Pa La U attracts many exotic birds and colorful butterflies.

One of the attractions of the waterfall is the huge number of schooling fish, catching which is strictly prohibited here. But it is allowed to feed, which causes the fish population to grow every day.

You can get to Pa La U by driving sixty kilometers west of Hua Hin. Entrance to the waterfall territory is paid (about 200 baht).

Waterpark "Black Mountain"

The Black Mountain water park opened quite recently, but has already won the sympathy of tourists. And this is not surprising - after all, there is everything necessary for a good rest for the whole family.

On the territory of the water park there is a swimming pool with slides for every taste and color: from the simplest straight ones for kids to those that not every adult would dare to climb - they are so steep and winding that you need to wear a helmet to go down. In addition, there is a jacuzzi and an artificial river with a fairly strong current, a pool with a huge artificial wave, sun loungers and beach umbrellas.

Next to the water park there is a large artificial lake with plastic jumps and wakeboarding boats.

In the café at the water park you can buy soft drinks and have lunch. The water park is open daily from 10.00 to 17.00.

The water park is located outdoors, so you should stock up on sunscreen, hats and comfortable shoes.

Motor gliding school in Thailand

The sky can get closer if you take to the air on a motorized paraglider. And if you do this at the “School of Motor Gliding” in Thailand, which is considered one of the best places for this sport in the world, a fireworks display of unforgettable emotions is guaranteed.

The low speed, complete stability and excellent maneuverability of the motorized paraglider allow you to get maximum pleasure from the flight, and the presence of a motor allows you to feel absolute freedom and independence from the vagaries of the air elements. Due to the low flight speed and the abundance of lines, even a forced landing on the forest is quite safe, and the beauty of Thailand from a bird's eye view is an absolutely unforgettable sight!

The motor gliding school provides training for both beginners and advanced training for experienced pilots.

Before you go flying on a motorized paraglider, you need to pay attention to the existing weight and age restrictions, and also stock up on sportswear and shoes without heels.

Buddhist temple Wat Khao Krailas

Wat Khao Krailas is a very old multi-level Buddhist temple in the Khao Takiab mountain area. It is located on a hill, which can be climbed using steps. This temple is the center of spirituality for people living in Hua Hin city. It is made in the traditional style of Thai architecture.

It is a peaceful place where you want to wander, reflect and contemplate. The lush green hills add to the charm of this holy place. In general, his concept is very interesting. As you climb the concrete steps, new details open up: a common veranda, ponds where beautiful lotuses bloom, statues, towers where you can climb and see everything around, Buddha statues, an ancient pagoda lined with mosaics and an observation deck from which you can see the whole city.

Wat Khao Krailas is a peaceful place filled with spirituality where you will feel like you are a part of this temple.
