The name of the resort Sutomore literally translates as “land and sea”, which, in fact, is an excellent description of this place.

The exact date of the formation of Sutomore is unknown, but we can say with confidence that the city was already known in the Middle Ages. Initially, it belonged to the Roman Empire for a long time. But it gained its main popularity during the reign of the Venetian Empire: it was then that many cultural monuments appeared, and the city became a vacation spot for wealthy Venetians.

Many hotels have their own cafes, but even if not, there will be no problems with choosing a place to eat: on the city embankment alone there are at least 50 cafes and restaurants with a rich varied menu. combines the characteristics of Italian, Turkish and Slavic traditions, and the variety of seafood products is amazing. The local nature is very rich: mountains, cypresses, pines and many other trees, clean air and the warm Adriatic Sea. All this, together with budget prices for housing and food, attracts many tourists to this town.

During the season, most of the city becomes a tourist area, which means that movement by transport is prohibited. This is another reason why Sutomore is a great place to relax with children. Please note, due to the fact that holidays in Sutomore are considered quite budget-friendly, in July and August there are a lot of vacationers here, Serbs and Albanians usually come here, the beaches are crowded.

Sutomore Beach is public and free, there are showers, changing cabins and toilets, you can rent sun loungers and an umbrella for 5-10 euros.

The resort itself is suitable for lovers of a relaxing holiday. There is no noisy atmosphere of neighboring tourist cities and towns. Small but bold - this is how one can characterize the Montenegrin resort of Sutomore. It enjoys deserved popularity among our compatriots and local vacationers. It’s not surprising: the calm, friendly atmosphere and the real, not ostentatious, hospitality with which tourists are greeted here are like a magnet, attracting more and more foreigners. It’s not for nothing that Russians prefer Sutomore, even to more modern and fashionable resorts. Sutomore is located almost in the center of the coast of Montenegro, next to famous resorts and.

More and more people are flocking here, to these two and a half kilometers of green slopes of majestic mountains that have seen a lot, stretching along the amazingly beautiful coast. Here, every stone and every grain of sand breathes history. The middle class, to which the majority of vacationers can safely be classified, prefer places in two- and three-star hotels, tourist surrounding villages, as well as in inexpensive but cozy guesthouses. The latter, of course, cannot boast of “cool” service, but they simply charm with their silence and simplicity.

Specialized pebble beaches, coupled with an 850-meter section of the healing beach, where in ancient times noble people successfully treated joint diseases, gladly welcome today's tourists. They offer numerous water attractions and cafes, the visits of which can be successfully alternated. The Adriatic gives its warmth to everyone without exception. During the day you can walk around the city - an undivided kingdom of pedestrians in the summer season. Check out the fish market for an amazing variety of fresh produce from the depths of the sea. And closer to night, bright multicolor lights light up the nightclubs, where you can have an exceptionally fun time.

After taking a walk, you can listen to the most interesting historical vicissitudes of the life of the settlement, its culture and centuries-old history. Its “roots” are hidden in the dark depths of the harsh and wild Middle Ages. Just have time to “click” with your camera - here is the unique, so-called two-altar church of St. Tecla (dating back to the 12th century), where Catholic forms coexist peacefully with Orthodox ones. But the ruins of the Benedictine monastery of St. Mary (XI century), between Bar and Sutomore, then the ancient Turkish fortresses of Hai-Nehai and Golo Brdo (Tabiya), which remember the days of bitter defeats and majestic victories over the enemy.

And these are not all the directions of existing excursion routes, because the convenient location of the holiday destination allows you to combine a good rest with interesting and unforgettable trips along the entire coast of Montenegro. You can visit the museum cities of Bar, Kotor, Petrovac. The “highlight” of the holiday will be a real sea ferry crossing to the neighboring Italian town of Bari, and it’s really worth going there.
