For those who don’t yet know and who are interested in what kind of wind brought us to the Black Sea coast, we read. I wrote about my first impressions of resort living a year ago in an article. It describes in detail my impressions of Anapa, a region without embellishment or belittling of merits, everything as it is, as I see everything.
I spoke about the peculiarities of the Supsek way of life in the comments to the named articles, but there are so many of them that a rare reader will reach the middle. Therefore, I will make your task easier and will present everything here concisely, concisely, I will try.
History and geography of the village of Supsekh
Supsekh or Su-Psekh (a double form of writing the word is possible) translated from the Turkic “Su” and Adeg “Psekh” means water, it turns out water-water, a lot of water. Previously, the outskirts of the settlement were famous for underground springs with the purest water.

The village is very ancient land, inhabited since the Stone Age, in different times Sindians, Pechenegs, Scythians, Greeks, Circassians, Turks, Armenians, and Cossacks lived here. Since 1829 locality, like the entire Caucasus, passes to the territories of Russia.

Historically, the village was famous for its fields, where wheat was cultivated and traded across the Black Sea with the whole world. It may be a myth, but it exists.
Unfortunately, in Supsekha only one field remains from those vineyards. The other part of the grape field is completely given over to the development of the microdistrict. The remaining vineyards are a pitiful sight, their lives are clearly coming to an end. Distant from the village, from the eastern part towards the village of Anapa, the fields are still preserved, they are being sown somehow...

Infrastructure Supsekh

I am often asked about the state of healthcare here in Kuban. I always answer in about a couple of phrases: like everywhere else in Russia, it is not the best. Adding to the negativity is the special mentality of the residents: since the salaries of medical staff here are undignifiedly low, and the people here want to live no worse than those who come on vacation, then it is possible and necessary to replenish the well-being of people in white coats with various kinds of handouts or gifts. This situation is still alive in many regions of municipal health care.
But these are the beliefs of those people who live by similar principles. After all, no one is extorting these gifts. I practically don’t turn to doctors for help, God has had mercy, but based on reviews from neighbors, family members, and personal ones, I’ll say this: everything here is normal with treatment, attitude, treatment.
Of course, there are not the same opportunities as in mega-cities, even if there are paid centers providing high-tech services. Although there are doctors here with a good reputation, friendly and good specialists.
The advantages would include a large selection of services: boarding houses, medical centers, sanatoriums, including children's, we remember that Anapa is a children's resort.

From the life of the village
It’s only a stretch to call Supsekh a separate municipal unit, and it doesn’t at all resemble a village. Most likely, this is a provincial residential area of the resort, although Anapa itself is a “sleeping princess”, waking up in summer season for the arrival of its millionth guests. Yes, yes, there are so many of them during the summer! However, our village is quite quiet, even in summer, although at night there is no longer that silence that was the shooting range a year ago: the village is being intensively built up.
IN Lately The resort is rapidly expanding, being built, and gaining new population. With the narrow width of driveways and streets, traffic jams have become a problem since the days of the “Tsar Pea,” even in the off-season. It has always been easy to leave Supsekh, but here too it becomes “stressful”. And you can’t speed up the streets anymore; sometimes cars come in columns, one after another.
The village has all the shops necessary for life, but there is no market. Agriculture is not developed here, although there are people who like to keep chickens, goats and even cows, but these are rare fans and enthusiasts. There are vegetable gardens, gardens, flower beds, and, like the embodiment of the American dream, tiny lawns.
Roads are a misfortune for Russia and an even greater suffering for our Supsekh, broken, many without any surface at all. During the rainy season this becomes a problem.
One good thing is that the soil is rocky, so you can drive anywhere and anytime. But there is faith in the best: this summer they began to lay road surfaces or sprinkle gravel on the roads like this:
The village is being transformed, old houses are being demolished, new, modern, beautiful houses are being built. amazing architecture. I have never seen such beautiful, unique cottages as here.
High-rise residential buildings are beginning to be erected. For me, this is a minus. It’s moments like these that deprive a village of its individuality. But the prices for apartments here are slightly lower than in Anapa, which is a plus, because the city is nearby.

The air is clean, saturated with oxygen, fluorine, iodine, and healing at all times. But in the summer, in the absence of rain, there is a lot of dust, and where there is no asphalt, it’s suffocating! So we take this fact into account; we choose our house away from the road or so that it is paved.
The water is good, clean, tasty, but contains a lot of salts, and there’s no calcium in it. Therefore, we either install filters, buy bottled water, or purify the water ourselves using available means. There are many private wells on the plots, we have a central water supply system, as well as a sewerage system.
Ecology is the dream of a modern person, a resort is a resort!
Interethnic and neighborhood relations
The population, as on the entire coast, is represented by many nationalities: in addition to Russians, there are many Armenians, there are Greeks, Ossetians, Kurds, Ukrainians, Koreans, Tatars and other representatives:

Everyone strives to live a friendly life. And this is not a declaration; I have not encountered or heard any obvious conflicts in everyday life.
People often talk about the historical local Kuban population, as they are called “Kubanoids”. Of course, friction happens, but this cannot be called common practice. Firstly, due to the assimilation of the population, everything is so mixed up that you can hardly understand who is who. Secondly, each of us has something for which we may not be loved. It is so? It is quite easy to understand the psychology of people who have lived here for a long time, why they should be happy that their land, to please the settlers, began to turn into a densely built-up space, condensed to the limit. Arable lands are disappearing, vineyards are being cut down..., quiet habitats are turning into centers with city bustle... Should they smile at us, open their doors and applaud?
I would like to note the state of the crime situation. Everything is calm, after all, this is a children’s resort! The police work well, they monitor strictly, all unwanted elements are quickly identified. I heard almost no cases of showdowns, robberies, thefts, I don’t even remember petty hooliganism. The Kuban syndrome of the “stanitsa Kushchevskaya” type, which plunged Russians into stupor about 8 years ago, will not work here. This is a big advantage of small settlements: everything is in plain sight, you don’t have to be in tension that you will be deceived or led into a “scam”. You can live relaxed with the belief that there are always people who will help in difficult times. This is a rare condition that megacities are completely deprived of.
Also about power and attitudes towards people. I will not hide that at first phrases like: “There is no power here or everything has been bought” did not leave our lips. Now we don’t really go anywhere, and we’ve somehow settled in and gotten used to it. I think that the laws and rights here are about the same as everywhere else in Russia, well, maybe a little worse...)
We were lucky that we bought a house in a new building; around us there are the same settlers as we are - people trying to put their roots in this land. The relationship was neighborly, partly friendly, kind, because this is very important for life.
As they say, when choosing a house, choose a neighbor. With that condensation, for every sneeze in the summer you will hear: Be healthy! How else? So think about it...The problem of building density is the main drawback of these places. Land is exorbitantly expensive, and therefore valuable. In Anapa it reaches 1 million per hundred square meters, in Supsekha - 200-400 thousand depending on the location, but this has not yet reached city heights.
How to get to Supsekh
Anapa, and therefore our village, has excellent communication with Krasnodar, Novorossiysk, major cities countries: plane, train, bus, taxi, catamarans, ships....
The village is connected to the center of the resort town by the Supsekhskoye Highway, which leads further to the beaches of Bolshoi Utrish and Sukko. What has changed in my impressions of the region in five years?
Earlier I spoke about the wretchedness of the markets, the scarcity of products and high prices, but the guests who come to us think differently... Especially at the end of summer, when the peak season decreases, the shopping arcades of the markets are overwhelmed. My favorite tomatoes cost 40-60 rubles, delicious plums, large honey plums that melt in your mouth were 20 rubles this year!!! Melons and watermelons are still at almost the same summer prices. Juicy pears, tender peaches, fragrant berries, ripe grapes - a little expensive, but everything is in abundance. We shop at our favorite “Eastern” market.
Almost all the products are local, grown on Kuban lands, not that expensive, you just need to know the day to go for them). Although, of course, there is plenty of Turkish. You yourself will understand that it is not necessary on Friday - Saturday, when everyone is preparing for the weekend and receiving guests. A lot of edible things can be found in old abandoned gardens, along fields, in forest plantations, and meadows. The food is provided by locals who have gardens, so you won’t go hungry here :)
