The complex includes the “Stone Calendar”, “Demonstration Map-Scheme”, the “Explosion” monument and a tree planted for the opening by Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev. The stone calendar tells the story of 9 days of fierce fighting in April 1943. The Explosion monument was created from the remains of exploding bombs and shells dropped on the defenders of Malaya Zemlya. Three kilometers away, at the foot of the mountain, there is the “Well of Life”, also part of the complex. On the stone slab of the “Valley of Death” there is an inscription: “Through this valley, the left flank of the troops of “Malaya Zemlya” was supplied with ammunition, food and everything necessary for life and combat. The only sources of drinking water were located here. The enemy kept the entire area constantly under massive fire...” During the Great Patriotic War, one of the few sources of water was a well located in a valley near a mountain; the soldiers called it “The Source of Life.”
One of the attractions of Myskhako is the “Sorcerer Mountain”, so called by local residents due to many legends. The official name is Mount Myskhako. Its height reaches 450 meters. According to legend, if clouds gather over Mount “Sorcerer” and lightning flashes, you must wait for rain. And if the sky above the mountain is clear, then the weather will be clear. And I must admit that I had reasons to believe in this legend.
You can climb the mountain along the trail by walking along Zarechnaya Street. The mountain offers a stunning view of the sea and the village of Myskhako. Especially attractive are the rocks that go into the sea. There are many different trees and shrubs on the mountain. These include Pitsunda pine and juniper. Another road passes in the area of horticultural associations, past numerous vineyards. You can use it to climb the mountain in an off-road vehicle or on foot.
WINEMAKING
When entering the village, you can see vineyards along the road. This region has long been famous for winemaking. Excellent varieties of wines, many of which won international awards, were produced by Agrofirm Myskhako. According to some reports, the winery has resumed its work. BEACHES
There are two beaches in Myskhako: a wild beach and an equipped small-pebble beach.
The descent to the wild beach is located on Pogranichnaya Street. You can go down to the beach via concrete stairs. On both sides of the stairs there are benches with tables.
