Paris-Orly International Airport, or simply Orly, was opened on the basis of an airship garage in 1932 as the second airport in Paris after Le Bourget. In the 1950s, Orly became the main airport in France, but with the opening of Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport in 1974 (the French simply call it Roissy Airport), it again became the country's second airport, which it remains to this day, serving in recent years approximately 27 million passengers per year.

The airport itself occupies just over 15 km2 and is located in 7 communes at the junction of the two departments of Esonne and Val-de-Marne, 14 km due south of Paris. In order to protect nearby residents settlements Because of noise, since 1968, Orly Airport has been prohibited by government decision from transporting more than 30 million passengers per year and from night flights from 11:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. So if a plane heading to Orly is delayed in flight and approaches Paris at night, it will definitely be landed at Charles de Gaulle airport.

Terminals

  • Terminal Sud (south) opened in 1961, 6-storey building in the departments of Val-de-Marne and Esonne;
  • Terminal Ouest (western) opened in 1971, 2-storey building in the department of Essonne)

Interestingly, 27.4% of the airport's area is in the commune of Paré-Vieil-Poste, 22.5% in the commune of Villeneuve-le-Roi and only 15.8% in the commune of Orly, the name of which is given to the airport. The remaining 34.3% of the airport's area is in the communes of Athy-Mons, Vissou, Morangis and Chilly-Mazarins (all in the department of Esonne).

How to get to Paris from the airport

Taxi. In the southern terminal there is exit M, in the western terminal there is exit I. The cost will be approximately 40 euros, at night (from 19:00 to 07:00) and on weekends there is a surcharge of + 15%.

Bus Orlybus will take you to Denfert Rochereau Square. Travel time is 25-30 minutes, cost is 7.70 euros. Buses run from 6:00 to 00:30. Buses run every 8-15 minutes.

A direct bus to Disneyland departs from two terminals every hour, from 9:00 to 20:15 in the south terminal, and from 9:10 to 20:25 in the west. The fare for adults is 20 euros, children - 16 euros (3-11 years old), under three years old - free.

Bus Les cars will take you to Eiffel Tower. Opening hours from 6:00 to 23:20, cost 11.50 euros one way or 18.50 euros return. Children in the age category 2-11 years old travel for 5.50 euros.

Metro Orlyval. In the southern terminal there is exit J, in the western terminal there is exit W. To Antony metro station (transfer to PER B) the ticket price is 9.30 euros for an adult, or 4.65 euros for a child from 4 to 10 years old. You can get to Paris without transfers for 12.05 euros or 6 euros, respectively.

Airport services

Paris-Orly is pleasant in many ways. For example, communication between the Orly South and Orly West terminals is carried out express train without a driver(1 minute drive).

Information Desk located in Concourses C and H and B (on the second floor) of the south terminal. The West Terminal provides information desks at gates O and W, between gates R and S, and at gates D and J in the arrivals area.

Each terminal has more than 10 cafes, fast foods and restaurants.Establishments are open until 21:00, in rare cases until 22:00.

On the second floor of the south terminal there is 14 boutiques world famous companies (Armani, Rolex, Royal Quartz, etc.), as well as duty free zones.

In addition to a large number of food outlets and shops, the airport has waiting rooms, mini-Disneylands, areas for families, gaming and music areas, ATMs, luggage packing areas, mother and child rooms, prayer rooms and smoking areas, massage rooms and salons beauty.

On the 3rd-5th floors of the south terminal there is a conference room, business center. Naturally, the airport has a post office, a lost and found office, a pharmacy, a first-aid post, and a currency exchange office.

Throughout the airport there is WiFi: the first 15 minutes are free, then you will have to pay from 2 euros for half an hour to 4.5 euros for 1.5 hours. Unlimited time will cost around 10 euros. You can also use a computer with Internet access in the Atlanteam cyber cafe, the price is 5 euros per hour. Here you can print out a ticket purchased online.

Tax free can be attributed to the disadvantages of the airport. And although there are Détaxe-Tax Refund points, the procedure for obtaining a stamp at customs is too long. It is much more pleasant to use the PABLO (Programme Apurement Bordereaux Lecture Optique) VAT refund system introduced in 2014. All trade enterprises are required to hand over the PABLO document to the buyer. Documents are completed without the participation of officials: PABLO money return terminals support prompts in Russian and are located at exits G (south terminal) and N (west terminal).

At the Orly-West terminal ATMs are located in the area of gates A and H, and in the Orly-South terminal - in the area of gates A and C, and in the area luggage compartment on the first floor. The procedure for receiving money does not differ from the generally accepted one.

Unfortunately, Orly Airport does not have traditional luggage storage facilities, presumably due to the fact that the airport is not open 24 hours a day.

Parking

At Orly Airport there are 8 parking lots for 9,567 cars:

  • parking lots P4, P5, P7 apply to both terminals;
  • parking lots P0, P2 - at the Orly-West terminal;
  • parking lots P1, P3, P6 - at the Orly-South terminal.

  • Parking lots P0-P3 are covered, parking lots P4-P7 are outdoors.

Covered place parking lot It is advisable to book in advance.

Price:

  • up to 10 minutes - free
  • 15 minutes - 2 euros
  • 30 minutes - 4.80 euros
  • 45 minutes - 5.80 euros
  • 1 hour - 6.80 euros
  • 2 hours - 10.80 euros
