All about Muy Ne Vietnam. Mui Ne is a Russian-speaking resort in Vietnam

In itself, it is of little interest to foreigners, except for the colorful morning market and brightly painted fishermen’s boats. Nearby Phan Thiet also does not stand out in anything special. But between them stretches a 10-kilometer beach, for which everyone comes here to relax.

Some people call this resort Mui Ne, others Phan Thiet, but in fact we are not talking about settlements, but about the coastal zone between them. Further in the article the word “Mui Ne” is used in this meaning.

The resort is popular among two categories of tourists: lovers of water sports and people from the CIS. The first come because of the waves and the constantly blowing wind: Mui Ne has excellent conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing.

Tourists from the former USSR choose the resort because of the widespread use of the Russian language: almost every restaurant, store or travel agency has Russian-speaking employees, so knowledge of English is not necessary for a holiday in Mui Ne.

About Mui Ne

The resort's infrastructure is not very developed - everything you need is there, but, for example, there are no large supermarkets or shopping and entertainment centers. Hotels, restaurants, shops and travel agencies are located along the only road running from Mui Ne to Phan Thiet, parallel to the beach. Between the road and the shore there are reputable resorts with access to the sea, and across the road there are simpler hotels.

During the day, tourists spend time on the beach, and in the evenings in bars and restaurants with live music. Those who don’t need anything else will like it in Mui Ne. But with excursions, attractions and a cultural program at this resort it’s difficult: not that there is none at all, but compared to, for example, much less.

How to get to Mui Ne?

There is no airport in Mui Ne. The nearest is in Ho Chi Minh City, 200 km away. From Ho Chi Minh City Airport you can take a taxi to Mui Ne. A fair price is 2,200,000 dong ($100) per car, but initially they quote much more ABOUT a larger amount, so you need to bargain.

A bus ticket costs 150,000-220,000 VND, depending on the greed of the intermediaries. The easiest way to buy tickets is in the tourist area: on Pham Ngu Lao and Bui Vien streets.

When is the cheapest time to fly from Moscow to Ho Chi Minh City?

Intercity buses in Vietnam are comfortable, so the five-hour journey to Mui Ne will not be tiring. It is not recommended to travel to Mui Ne by train: the station is located 35 km from the resort.

Beach holiday in Mui Ne

The high season in Mui Ne begins in November and lasts until April, then the rains begin. The beach at the resort is a ten-kilometer strip of sand, which is conventionally divided into separate parts to make it easier to navigate. Along the entire length of the beach there are different areas - clean or with natural debris, wide or narrow, with sand or with concrete slabs on the shore.

The coast of Mui Ne has two features: firstly, it is almost always windy and there are waves on the sea, so you need to stay in a resort with a swimming pool, in case the waves are too big. Secondly, the current washes sand from the shore, so there are places with exposed concrete slabs that were laid to protect the beach line from washing away.

In general, for inexperienced swimmers and swimming with a small child, you will have to find a suitable place along the shore, because... b ABOUT The majority of the beach is not very suitable for these categories of vacationers.

Sights of Mui Ne

Dunes

Sand dunes are the main attraction of the resort. They are, of course, smaller in size than the dunes in the Sahara, but they look impressive. The sand dunes vary in color: there are red and white. They are located not far from each other, near the village of Mui Ne.

Pros and cons of holidays in Mui Ne

Minuses: few attractions; there is no airport, so you have to get there by bus; inconvenient layout – the resort is stretched along one street; It’s not easy to get to the beach from the second line, because... the first line is densely built up and the passages to the sea are blocked.

pros: spreading palm trees and lush greenery on the first line of the beach; calm atmosphere and silence in the evenings (except for a few popular restaurants); delicious and inexpensive seafood dishes; You can do without English - Russian-speaking staff are often found.

UPD. An article about holidays in Mui Ne was written a hundred years ago. Now I wouldn't be so categorical. There are also advantages: fresh seafood, low prices, beautiful nature, the sea (you can’t always swim, but it’s there!). One day I will return to Mui Ne and rewrite the post, but for now please do not be offended if the text caused negative emotions in you. Vietnam is awesome!

***
I’ll share my impressions, reviews, show photos and talk about what the popular resort of Phan Thiet in the south of Vietnam and its “branch” Mui Ne, which people affectionately call “Mui Ne”, actually is, a favorite hangout spot for kitesurfers and Russian package tourists.

Prices for tours to Vietnam ↓

But first, some background. Oh, it's been so long since I wrote a backstory! If you are interested in practical information, you can go directly to the desired place in the article by clicking on the link:

***
Was there Vietnam in my life? Probably was, since the old passport has an entry stamp on a Vietnamese visa purchased for $77 in the center of Vientiane, Laos. I'm with 70 men to travel around the country. With all my heart I wanted to travel from north to south in a month and see the authentic villages, national parks and deserted beaches that I had once read about.

Now that I love and am loved by a wonderful, adequate person, it is difficult for me to understand the motives that moved me at that period of my life. What made me abandon my planned route overnight, buy two plane tickets with my own money, and follow someone I didn’t need into noisy Mui Ne, where I didn’t want to go?

Partly the passion I wrote about earlier. But, to be completely honest, the driving force was the sudden fear of being left alone and the self-doubt that was progressing at that time. It was in this strange state that I found myself at night on the streets of Vietnamese Mui Ne. A place that did not fit into my format, and into whose format I did not fit in any way.

But the fact remains a fact. I arrived in Mui Ne, stayed there for several days, and then quickly left the resort. In the best traditions. At night.

Visiting foreign backpackers, who were mistakenly brought to Mui Ne by the finger of fate, curse and also try to quickly recover their legs, after which they heal their mental wounds with bottles of beer in Saigon, where, sitting in the evening on small blue chairs in the Pham Ngu Lao area, they tell their exciting stories about adventures in the “Russian ghetto” in the ears of those who for some reason are planning to go to Mui Ne, having read about the resort in the guidebook.

If at this moment you casually say something like “By the way, my mother tongue is Russian,” you can only hear in response a sad “I’m very sorry.” D'you wanna beer? I invite.”

It’s not that foreigners don’t like Russians, but rather they are shocked by the surroundings of Mui Ne. A person simply cannot expect to come to Vietnam and find himself in the Russian 2000s. Nowadays, you don’t really need to go to Russia to hear Alla Pugacheva and Nikolai Baskov screaming their wonderful songs all over the street.

All this is right on the main street in Mui Ne along with borscht, dumplings, sour cream and smiling Vietnamese people who try to sell you dragonfruit for $3 apiece and say that “This is deseva, madam! Autumn is early!"

To be honest, Mui Nya is one of those rare places on Earth that I don’t like and where I don’t want to return for any price. In this article I will try to talk about the resort impartially and note the main pros and cons that caught my eye.

You will say that everything was written a long time ago. Yes but not all. What they write about Mui Ne is often lies and custom-made nonsense, copied by copywriters from other copywriters who have never been to Vietnam.

The very first tab at the request of Mui Ne led me to the website of the travel agency “Rainbow”, where it says that “Phan Thiet is perfect for a family holiday with children, because there are comfortable beaches” and that Cape Mui Ne is, it turns out, an ideal place for a relaxing recreation. Sure sure. Why!

Let at least my dear readers learn the truth from me, since the Rainbow agency and others like them are not helping in this.

The secret of the popularity of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet

Mui Ne was once a simple village in the south of Vietnam. Fishermen leisurely caught fish and shellfish in their small basin boats, day after day the sun rose at 5.30 am and set below the horizon at 6 pm.

Just like 1000 years ago, today the time of sunset and dawn in Vietnam is unchanged. Just like 100 years ago, the streets of the village are now filled with the intoxicating smell of fish sauce. But some things have changed and continue to change.

The wind constantly blows from the desert. In the early 2000s, the same wind brought the first kitesurfers and windsurfers to Mui Ne. Since then, the once deserted shores south of the fishing village have begun to be actively built up with hotels and concrete houses.

Just 5-7 years ago, mostly surfers and kitesurfers traveled to Mui Ne. During the day the guys rode, and in the evening they got drunk and picked up girls in several local bars. A sort of party “for our own people”. It was possible to live cheaply and have fun all winter in the company of kiter friends.

But one day, large Russian travel companies found out about Mui Ne. Monsters of the travel industry saw the potential and began selling organized tours to a godforsaken village in southern Vietnam.

The Vietnamese know how to adapt, so they quickly learned the Russian language, raised prices for housing and fruit, and turned the area around Mui Ne into the tourist capital of Vietnam, giving the growing resort the proud French name of Phan Thiet.

Mui Ne and Phan Thiet beaches

Mui Ne and Phan Thiet are located 7 km from each other on the coast of the South China Sea. Tourists who have a higher travel budget settle in Phan Thiet. There are more expensive hotels and prices in cafes are higher than in Mui Ne. Those with a more modest travel budget tend to find accommodation closer to the fishing village.

These resorts smoothly flow into one another and represent a 15 km long strip of beaches along which hotels stand. From more expensive to cheaper.

There are wild beaches north of Mui Ne that can only be reached by bike. Some of them don’t even have a road and you have to drive along the sand along the sea.

Despite the fact that Phan Thiet and Mui Ne are positioned as resorts for family beach holidays, swimming there is very problematic, especially with small children.

The sea is dirty and rough. You can swim only in the morning, there are big waves at lunchtime, it’s uncomfortable to lie on the shore, because the sand blown by the wind cuts the skin unpleasantly

Why people who don’t ride go to Mui Ne is a mystery to me. There is only one explanation - tours are inexpensive, tour operators in their offices are telling lies, that’s why people go

Features of holidays in Mui Ne (Phan Thiet), my reviews:

  • The entire resort is located on both sides of one main street, Nguyen Dinh Chieu, which runs along the beach. All cafes, shops, hotels and guest houses are located on this street.
  • Nowhere in the world have I seen so many compatriots vacationing. Even in Turkey it is smaller. Cafes and restaurants have signs in their native language, and in the evenings the drawn-out voice of Baskov and catchy songs of Kirkorov and Pugachova can be heard from the speakers. I don’t know if it’s possible to meet a Vietnamese in Phan Thiet these days who doesn’t speak Russian.
  • If you have previously lived in Thailand and are now looking for an alternative for a long-term stay, then it is likely that Mui Ne will disappoint you. Better consider Nha Trang
  • Phan Thiet is the place for you if you are into kitesurfing and surfing. There are dozens of instructors who will help you get on the board, but the beach in Mui Ne is not the best place to learn. The strip of sand is very narrow, there are large waves in the sea, the depth begins immediately near the shore
  • There are no large supermarkets here, which you get used to in Thailand. Goods have to be purchased in small private shops at a premium
  • There are reviews on the internet about encounters with rats, but I haven’t seen any rodents. Let's believe we're extinct
  • Since there is no public transport as such, you will have to rent a motorcycle. The bikes are available with both manual and automatic transmissions. If you don’t know how to ride a bike and don’t want to, you can buy excursions at one of the many travel agencies.
  • Be sure to stash your helmets in the trunk. Our helmet was stolen from our bike right in the hotel courtyard

Where to eat and buy groceries in Phan Thiet and Mui Ne

  • There are more or less high-quality markets in Phan Thiet, called Coop Mart and Lotte Mart. When buying groceries, be sure to look at the expiration date!
  • If you need fresh vegetables and fruits, it is better to buy them early in the morning at the Hàm Tiến market in the center of Mui Ne. The same goes for fresh seafood. You need to come to the market to get them from 6 to 9 am
  • In the evenings, prices for fruit in small shops can be twice as high as in the market
  • Cafes change every year, service deteriorates, so check the latest information about cafes and restaurants locally, or better yet, find them on social media. network with someone who currently lives in Mui Ne and ask him

Sights of Phan Thiet (Mui Ne) and the surrounding area

The attractions are very limited. There are not so many of them, and they are all mostly natural. Without much effort, you can explore all the surrounding beauty in one or two days, but you will need a bike for this.

Red Creek

Marked on maps as Fairy Stream. Located in the center of the Mui Ne resort area. It is a canyon with red walls and a stream flowing through it, in the place of which there used to be a deep river. It is because of the Red Stream that the water in the sea is so muddy.

It is difficult to miss the stream, as there is a fish sauce factory near its entrance. As soon as you smell the strong smell of fish, you are there!

Cham Pasha Towers

Built in the 8th century, remains of the Cham culture.

Red Dunes

5 km from Mui Ne village. You can get there by bus or bike. It's better to go in the morning. It's very hot during the day. A taxi will cost $7. This is exactly how much it costs to rent a bike for 1 day.

Red Dunes

Red Canyon

Located on the way to the White Dunes. If you go on a tour, they will let you out to the stream for two minutes. It's better to take a bike and ride yourself

White dunes and lotus lake

The white dunes and wild beaches on the way to them are the best I have seen in Vietnam, so I highly recommend visiting this place. You can buy an organized tour ($10 per person) or rent a bike. It's more fun on a bike, of course. The drive is about 40 minutes one way.

White Dunes

What else to see in Mui Ne:

In the surrounding area there is Mount Taku with a statue of a reclining Buddha, the Ke Ga lighthouse, and Pitahaya plantations. Phan Thiet has several museums and an amusement park.

Mountain Dalat

If you come on vacation for a couple of weeks, I highly recommend going to Dalat for three days. This is a French city in the mountains in the center of Vietnam.

Mui Ne sells excursions to Dalat, but it’s best to just buy a bus ticket, book a hotel in Dalat for a couple of nights, rent a bike on the spot and ride around the surrounding mountains and waterfalls, cracking strawberries.

Prices in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet

Housing prices start from 10-15$ per day for a modest room with a shower in a small guesthouse by the sea.

Prices for food in a cafe - 5-10$
Soup - 2.5-3$
Salad - from 3$
Meat and hot dishes - from 5$
Fresh — 2.5$
Coffee - 1$

Kitesurfing lessons - from 50-60$ in a day
Equipment rental – from 50$ in a day

Guest for $10 per night
Shells

Prices for excursions in Mui Ne

  • Dalat - one day 40-55$ , two-day - 110-150$ per person
  • Mount Tako - group 30$ per person
  • Group Taku-Sources Binh Chau - crocodile farm - 60$
  • White Dunes - 10$ for one

Prices for the same excursion in different agencies can vary greatly. For example, Dima Tour will offer you a trip to the Mekong Delta for $120, while Lena Tour may charge $150 for the same excursion.

In general, if you don’t want to rent a bike and ride yourself, go to agencies and ask who offers what. In addition to the standard “farm, crocodile, stream, dunes, Saigon”, you can find something really interesting and off-the-beaten-path.

How to get to Mui Ne?

The nearest airport is located in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

From the center of Ho Chi Minh City it takes 5-7 hours to travel by bus to Mui Ne. The ticket costs 7-10$ , but to take the bus, you must first come from Saigon airport to the city center at Phan Ngu Lao, find a ticket office and buy a bus ticket there, or you can look at the schedule in advance and buy a bus ticket on the Internet.

You can use the search form below. When the list of tickets opens, you can change the currency (rubles, Vietnamese dong, dollars) in the upper right corner. This is a local Asian search engine that shows all available options - from expensive to cheapest ↓↓

Bus from Saigon to Mui Ne

Is it worth going on holiday to Mui Ne?

Thus, if you, like me, prefer not very touristy places to live or relax and in each country you are looking primarily for local flavor, then a holiday in Mui Ne is definitely not for you. Better consider Nha Trang as an alternative.

Firstly, you don’t need to travel that far to eat seafood and chat with your compatriots. Secondly, if you need a quality beach holiday, then the Phan Thiet coast cannot boast of paradise beaches. The sea is dirty, waves.

If, like the famous baby mammoth, you are not afraid of waves, wind, rats, drunk kitesurfers (or maybe you are a drunk kite surfer yourself), then congratulations. Mui Na is right for you! But you already know this without me and most likely you will not read this article.

If you visited those places several years ago, do not rush to argue with me and say how cool it is there. Since then the resort has deteriorated and continues to deteriorate.

Have an unforgettable holiday in Vietnam! Sincerely,

23 reasons not to go on holiday to Phan Thiet and Mui Ne, Vietnam

Not long ago, Russian tourists discovered one of the resorts in Vietnam - Phan Thiet. The place, beloved by many, is located in the center of the country, and many people liked it primarily for its mild and comfortable climate. Suffice it to say that the average air temperature here throughout the year is 27 degrees Celsius. Hospitable Vietnamese are happy to treat tourists to original seafood dishes. Visitors have access to a magnificent sandy beach with convenient access to the sea.

    Geographical position

Phan Thiet is located in the south of Vietnam, in Binh Huang province, on the picturesque shore of the warm South China Sea. The area of the resort is two hundred square kilometers. The nearest city is Ho Chi Minh City (distance - 240 kilometers).

    Infrastructure

Today, many of our compatriots go on vacation to Vietnam. Phan Thiet (Mui Ne is a particularly popular resort) attracts tourists from all over the world. The best hotels are concentrated here, distinguished by modern and original design, excellent technical equipment and an excellent level of European service. The beach stretches for 22 kilometers, being the longest in Vietnam. Every year, the infrastructure of the recreation area is developed and improved in this country.

And lovers of picturesque nature will certainly be interested in pink and white dunes. However, nothing can compare with the impression that the Red Canyon makes on all visitors. Its walls are a mixture of red clay and sandstone, and this local landmark was formed as a result of soil erosion. This process is still ongoing, and after some time the canyon will disappear, so tourists who want to admire this miracle of nature should hurry up with their trip to Vietnam.

Another attraction of these places is the Lost, or Lost Sea. This lake is located deep in the forest on the border of Dong Nai and Binh Thuan provinces. Local residents called it that because of its size, which at first made people think that in front of them there was really a sea, which had taken about 1000 hectares from the forest. During the rainy season it triples. To the east of the reservoir rises Mount Katong.

    Poskhanu Towers

This is the heritage of the Champa people. They were once part of an ancient temple complex. Fairies, daughters of the goddess Po Nagar, are worshiped here. Nowadays, three towers are the most preserved. Their age is estimated at thirteen centuries. Champa is distinguished by a special architectural style - false doors, rounded columns, reminiscent of Khmer temple buildings. Every year, in the first lunar month, the Roh Mbanga and Riji Nuta festivals are held at the towers.

    Lighthouse "Ke Ga"

It is located four kilometers from Phan Thiet. This is one of the most famous places in the small province of Binh Thuan. In 1897, the lighthouse was built by the French architect Shenawat. The height of the structure is 64 meters. It was recognized as the most beautiful lighthouse in Southeast Asia. The octagonal tower is crowned with a lantern capable of illuminating distances of twenty-two

    Mui Ne fishing village

This is what local fishermen named their village. During the stormy season they found refuge here. Translated, “muy” means island or cape, “ne” means shelter. Transparent blue waters, bright sun, snow-white sand created a magnificent landscape that is pleasing to the eyes of guests from abroad. In addition to exciting excursions, tourists can watch the hard daily work of fishermen and take part in fishing.

    Flora and fauna

The forests in these places are ancient. Here you can see countless numbers of a wide variety of orchids, living well with trees, which are also very diverse - sandalwood, thuja, cypress, etc. The depths of the sea hide a variety of fish; Many birds nest on its banks, and there are many of them here - from simple pheasants to majestic peacocks.

    Phan Thiet Town

The picturesque area near the calm Phan Thiet River was inhabited many centuries ago, but until the twentieth century it remained a quiet, unknown fishing town, or rather, even a village. In ancient times, it was part of the Champ kingdom. Despite its rather modest size, the settlement played a significant role in the history of the country and gave the Vietnamese people several outstanding figures of history and culture. There are many resorts and exotic places in Vietnam. One of them is the resort of Phan Thiet (Vietnam). The townspeople (the population is approximately 200 thousand people) are very hospitable and welcoming. Those of them who are not involved in the tourism business earn money from fishing or agriculture, like their distant ancestors. The main nationalities living in this territory are the Viet, Cham, and Hoa. Everyone who comes to this pretty town is pleasantly surprised that most local residents speak English and Russian quite well. This makes communication much easier. It must be said that the development of tourism has significantly improved the well-being of the population.

    Economics, transport

Perhaps the most significant drawback of this resort is the lack of an international airport. But it's not that scary. When you fly into Vietnam, you will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, from which it is very easy to get to Phan Thiet. Trains, buses, and taxis are available to guests (the cost of the latter, by the way, is quite affordable). Tourists prefer to travel around the city by taxi or rented car, which costs eight dollars per day. All hotels in the city provide this service.

    Where to stay

Hotels in Vietnam (Phan Thiet is no exception in this sense) are modern buildings with an original design, well equipped technically. A variety of hotels are presented to the attention of tourists - these can be modest 3* rooms or excellent 4* and 5* apartments. All of them have a set of necessary services.

If you are planning to go to Vietnam, tours (Phan Thiet is definitely on the list of the most popular) must be agreed in advance with the tour operator. What number exactly do you want? If you are planning a vacation with children, make sure that they have their own room. In addition, it is necessary to discuss other services provided by the hotel - Internet, cable TV, air conditioning and others.

Another important issue is nutrition. In Vietnam it is one or two meals a day. All hotels in Vietnam offer a buffet. Phan Thiet amazes many tourists with its varied menu. It is almost impossible to try all the offered treats at breakfast or dinner. It offers a variety of seafood and meat dishes. Various vegetables and fruits are available in abundance. Those with a sweet tooth will be delighted by the large selection of ice cream and drinks. European cuisine predominates in hotels, and those who like to try something exotic should go to the nearest cafe or restaurant.

Today we will present to your attention several hotels. They are the most popular among tourists coming to Vietnam. Your vacation (Phan Thiet guarantees you this) will be at the highest level if you stay at the Swiss Village Resort 5* hotel. It stands on a magnificent white beach, in the middle of a coconut grove. The complex was built at the expense of a Vietnamese architect who lived in Switzerland since nineteen sixty-six. Several years ago he returned to his homeland.

The hotel's architectural style is based on Asian cultures, embodied in buildings with round roofs and rounded columns. The exquisitely decorated rooms are equipped to Swiss standards. On site there are two restaurants, four bars, a beauty salon, a business center, a souvenir shop, a library, and a fitness center. Each room is equipped with a radio, telephone, paid minibar, air conditioning, hairdryer. It is possible to connect a modem and a fax. For children there is a playroom, a mini-club, a swimming pool, babysitting services, and an equipped playground.

Pandanus Resolt 4* - this hotel is located on the seashore. It features a stylish design, an abundance of greenery and fountains. The total area is ten acres. The hotel has 134 comfortable rooms, a restaurant, a swimming pool with a jacuzzi, two bars, a beauty salon, and a SPA center. For lovers of active recreation, there is a fitness center with an excellent gym, where a trainer works with guests. You can play tennis on two courts. In the evening you can visit a disco or night club.

    Prices at the resort

We can say with confidence that Vietnam provides its guests with the most affordable vacation. Phan Thiet is no exception. The cost of the tour starts at $500 (7 days), with accommodation in a four-star hotel. Of course, this does not include paid services and additional meals. But here everything is more or less tolerable. For example, a full dinner will cost 150 rubles, and a glass of beer costs five rubles. The main costs are for the purchase of air tickets and payment for hotel services.

    Vietnam, Phan Thiet: shopping

Those who are accustomed to European shopping will probably be surprised when they find themselves in a Vietnamese store. There are no famous world brands here, but there are a lot of exotic things, for which many come here. Visit Phan Thien's oldest market, the Central Market. But be careful - it's very easy to get lost here. In small shops, pavilions, tents you can buy shoes and clothes, jewelry with mother-of-pearl, silver. Near the hotels there are usually small shops and shops with gifts and souvenirs. Don't know what to bring for your family and friends? Pay attention to Vietnamese wicker hats and natural silk.

Mui Ne is a wonderful beach holiday in a fishing village surrounded by a riot of greenery. Endless beaches, clear sea, kitesurfing... True, Russian cafes sober up from the idyll, but let’s not talk about that. The route from Mui Ne to Phan Thiet and back was definitely experienced by every tourist who vacationed in these parts. Well, I’m no exception.

    By bus

There are 2 buses from Phan Thiet to Mui Ne, No. 1 and No. 9. I came across exactly 1 route every time I went to Phan Thiet, so I know exactly its route from edge to edge. In terms of travel time, the trip will take approximately 40-60 minutes, depending on where to get on and where to get off.

As such, there is no bus station in Mui Ne, so the bus from Phan Thiet reaches the Peace resort hotel, turns around and goes in the opposite direction. The Peace resort hotel is located on the outskirts, but is still considered part of the Mui Ne resort area:

Then the bus travels along the coast, you can board it near the hotels Full Moon Village, Mui Ne Village Resort, MaDam Cuc. Here there is no concept of a stop at all; where you stop the bus is where you get on, but with disembarkation things are more complicated. There is a conductor in the cabin, it is he who needs to be approached during stops and the more often, the more reliably. Drivers and conductors do not speak English, much less Russian. It would be appropriate to write the name of the place or hotel on a piece of paper and show it to the conductor.

Let's get back to the route. Then the bus, passing by Hon Rom, Sandunes Beach Resort along Đường Xuân Thủy, turns onto Đường Nguyễn Hữu Thọ and exits at Huỳnh Thúc Kháng. And then again along the sea through the village of Ham Tien, through numerous hotels and a golf club, the bus enters Phan Thiet. A stop near the Co.opmart shopping center is especially popular in the city:

Almost everyone gets off here, but the route does not end there; the bus then goes to the Phan Thiet Railway Station:

The final stop is the bus station:

Buses run every 20-30 minutes, sometimes less often, from 5:30 to 20:30.

    Buying tickets

The fare is paid to the conductor inside the bus.

    Price

Travel from edge to edge costs 16,000 dong (0.6 euros), from the center of Mui Ne to the center of Phan Thiet - 13,000 dong (0.5 euros), within Mui Ne - 9,000 dong (0.3 euros), within the beach area - 6,000 dong (0.2 euros). But the conductors give change at their discretion and usually charge 13,000 dong for the fare; it is impossible to explain that you need to travel 1 km.

    By car

You can only rent a car in Vietnam with a driver from travel agencies. But to travel to Phan Thiet it is easier to take a taxi, the main thing is to bargain.

    Results

The most convenient and, one might say, the only way to get from Mui Ne to Phan Thiet is by bus. From my own experience I can say: I have never seen crowded buses. There are no other ways to get there, except by sea, but this should be negotiated with the owners of boats and boats.

Mui Ne is a famous Vietnamese resort, located 4 hours drive from the capital of Vietnam Hanoi and 15 minutes drive from Phan Thiet (a small fishing town). The road, of course, is exhausting (especially after a long flight of about 9 hours), but believe me, it’s worth it. You can buy a ticket from a tour operator, then a guide will meet you, seat you in a comfortable bus, and tell you all the way about the attractions and the resort. You can also order a taxi to the hotel, which costs the same in money, and you will get there much faster.

    Interesting fact about Vietnam:

According to legend, the Vietnamese people descended from a dragon and a bird fairy

This is not the first time we have vacationed here and plan to return again. Mui Ne is ideal for a relaxing family holiday.

The resort guide (given to you upon arrival) advertises the following trendy clubs:

    "A unique, trendy hangout spot"

“Unique atmosphere. Dance floor on the sand, dancers"

"Dancing on the bar until the morning"

If they don’t give you a guidebook, then look on the street in the evening. It is distributed free of charge at the center. The guidebook looks like a magazine.

Don't believe it. If anyone will dance until the morning, it will be you and your company. People come to Mui Ne to take a break from the bustle of the city, have spa treatments, swim, eat delicacies, see the sights in the area, go windsurfing or kitesurfing, do shopping, but not hang out.

The attitude of local residents towards tourists is captivating. The Vietnamese are very well-mannered and love Russian tourists. They are always friendly and ready to help. They speak Russian more readily than English, since the Russian language used to be part of the compulsory educational program of the Vietnamese.

    Interesting fact about Vietnam:

You can also travel from Moscow to Vietnam by train. True, this will require 1 transfer in Beijing, and the entire journey will take at least 7 days

Vietnamese do not ask for tips, but, on the contrary, are very surprised when you leave a tip in a restaurant. A couple of times the waiters even ran after us to return the forgotten money. And when we said what kind of service this was, we were very surprised, thanked them, and once took the mango with us. It is very nice.

Each time we stay in Mui Ne in different hotels. But after visiting Vietnam several times, we developed a strategy for choosing a hotel. Read more about how we choose a hotel in Vietnam.

The country is surprised by the large number of motorbikers and taxis. Local residents hardly walk, so there are almost no pedestrian roads. In Mui Ne itself you can get around on foot, but if you decide to go somewhere, it’s better to use transport. Read about transport in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet. The taxi driver is responsible for you. And what is surprising in Vietnam is that if you use the services of a local taxi (white and green cars), you can trust him: he will take you wherever you ask, he will bring you back, and nothing will happen to the bags left in his car, don’t even worry. While shopping in Phan Thiet, we drove the whole city in one taxi, he helped us put our bags in the car, waited for us and explained what was worth seeing and how to quickly get to the store we needed.

    Remember

The Vietnamese also cross the road not at an underpass, but anywhere. The basic rule: do not fuss or panic, but calmly move on. The driver will go around you himself. Of course, I wouldn’t recommend throwing yourself under the wheels.

Vietnam is famous for its fruits (read in the article) and delicacies (more details in the articles - and). Fruit can be bought on almost every corner.
