Then, out of forty-seven participants in the race, only thirteen reached the finish line without problems. Today, the races on the Lauberhorn track are one of the stages of the Alpine Skiing World Cup, they are held annually in January and consist of three disciplines: super combined, downhill and slalom. Due to the complexity of the route, winning the Lauberhorn Race is incredibly prestigious. The length of the descent is 4260 meters, and the elevation difference is more than a kilometer, while in some sections the athletes reach speeds of more than 150 kilometers per hour. Despite such extreme performance, the track is open to amateurs. However, those who dare to try their hand at the Lauberhorn track must be prepared for the most difficult obstacles - rapids and ramps, sharp turns, sharp slopes, narrow passages between rocks and much more. Athletes need to be most careful at the very end of the descent; it is not for nothing that before the final rollout there is a sign with the inscription Nur fur gute Skifahrer, which translates from German as “For experienced skiers only.” The main danger is not the steep descent, but the wide strip of ice: this part of the slope thaws during the day, and freezes again during the night. This section must be overcome in a straight line, at high speed.

In second place is the Colorado resort Arapahoe Basin in the Rocky Mountains. In terms of height, it is quite a bit behind Gulmarg - 3978 meters. But the longest route here is several times shorter - only 2.6 kilometers. The season here lasts from October to June.
Another Colorado resort - Breckenridge- ranked third in the ranking. The ascent height here is 3962 meters, and the length of the longest route is 5.6 kilometers. In fourth place is the Loveland resort, again Colorado, with a climb of 3960 meters and a route 13 kilometers long.
